Liverpool down Burnley to reclaim top-spot in the Premier League

Liverpool reclaimed the top spot in the Premier League table with a commanding 3-1 victory over Burnley at Anfield on Saturday, propelling them two points ahead of Manchester City, who have a game in hand.

Jurgen Klopp’s side entered the match trailing Manchester City after their 2-0 win against Everton earlier in the day.

However, Liverpool swiftly asserted their dominance with Diogo Jota opening the scoring in the 31st minute.

Burnley managed to equalize just before halftime, but Liverpool’s relentless attack saw Luis Diaz restoring their lead in the 52nd minute, followed by Darwin Nunez sealing the victory with a goal in the 79th minute.

Meanwhile, in North London, Tottenham Hotspur staged a remarkable comeback to secure a 2-1 win against Brighton, keeping their title aspirations alive.

After falling behind to a 17th-minute goal by Pascal Grob, Spurs rallied back as Pape Sarr leveled the scoreline in the 61st minute.

The dramatic late winner came in the 97th minute courtesy of Brennan Johnson, propelling Spurs to fourth place with 47 points, seven points adrift of leaders Liverpool.

In other matches, Fulham secured a thrilling 3-2 victory over Bournemouth, while Sheffield United emerged victorious with a 3-1 away win against Luton.

Brentford also clinched a 2-0 win over Wolves, Nottingham Forest fell 2-3 vs Newcastle rounding off an action-packed day in the Premier League .
