Victor Osimhen fires blank as Napoli and Torino battle to 1-1 draw
Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen faced disappointment yet again as his goal-scoring streak hit a snag during Friday night’s clash against Torino, which ended in a 1-1 draw.
Despite a spirited performance, Osimhen was unable to find the back of the net, marking his second consecutive league game without a goal.
In the game on Friday night, Osimhen had two successful dribbles and drew the most fouls in the match, enduring three challenges from the Torino defenders who successfully kept the Napoli hit-man in check.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia netted the opener for Napoli but the visitors forced a share of spoils with Antonio Sanabria’s equalizer shortly after coming off the bench.
The game saw Osimhen managing only one shot on target, highlighting Torino’s effective defensive strategy against the Serie A champions.
Despite his constant threat with his physicality and movement, Osimhen’s goal-scoring endeavors were foiled, leaving him unable to add to his tally of 11 Serie A goals this season.
Napoli will now shift attention to the Champions League. The Partonopei are guests of FC Barcelona in midweek for a round of 16 second leg clash.
