‘ We will do everything ‘ – USM Alger Coach confident ahead of Rivers United clash In Uyo

Juan Carlos Garrido, the coach of Algerian side USM Alger, has expressed confidence in his team’s ability to secure a positive outcome against Rivers United in their upcoming CAF Confederation Cup quarter-final first leg tie in Uyo.

The Algerian outfit is set to face Nigeria’s representative, Rivers United, in the first leg of the quarter-final of the second-tier continental competition this weekend.

Garrido revealed that USM Alger is fully committed to securing a favorable result in Nigeria.

“We will do everything to come back with a win from Nigeria,” Garrido affirmed.

USM Alger topped Group A with an impressive tally of 13 points from six games, showcasing their strength in the competition. Meanwhile, Rivers United secured their place in the quarter-finals by finishing second in Group C with 12 points from six group stage matches.

In related news, the Confederation Africaine de Football (CAF) has officially announced the dates for the Finals of the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League and TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup for the 2023/24 season.

The Finals will follow a home-and-away format and are scheduled to take place in May 2024. The first leg of the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup will be held on Sunday, May 12, 2024, with the second leg set for the following weekend on Sunday, May 19, 2024.

For the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League Final, the first leg is scheduled for Saturday, May 18, 2024, while the decisive second leg will be played on Saturday, May 25, 2024.
