Maduka Okoye names priority between individual award and Udinese survival
Nigerian goalkeeper Maduka Okoye has said he prioritizes Udinese relegation survival to the praise people bestowed on him for his outstanding performances in goal.
In their most recent game, despite his incredible performance, Udinese still suffered a 2-1 defeat to Serie A table leaders Inter Milan in a keenly contested match.
The 24-year-old Super Eagles of Nigeria shot-stopper played down reports his Udinese teammates are scared of going down, stating there was no tension in the team locker room as the season winds down.
Okoye said in a recent interview: “Praise is nice, but at the moment, Udinese is more important than individuals.
The fight for salvation is intense, and the Zebrette is aware of the situation we find ourselves in and how much this means for us, the club, and the fans.
” I don’t see fear in the locker room, but we feel the tension, as happens in this sport when you experience periods like that.
” Now ranking is the most important thing in our lives, but we want to think step by step. Now, in our heads, there is only Rome”, Okoye said.
