Granit Xhaka lauds Leverkusen’s Nigerian duo for Bundesliga triumph

Swiss midfielder Granit Xhaka has showered accolades on Nigerian duo, Victor Boniface and Nathan Tella for their instrumental roles in Bayer 04 Leverkusen’s historic Bundesliga victory.

Xhaka, who holds Switzerland’s appearance record, joined Leverkusen from Arsenal last summer and quickly became a linchpin in Xabi Alonso’s midfield setup.

“It’s difficult to find the right words but I had a very good experience in Nigeria, won the U-17 World Cup there, defeating them in the final. “For Boni and Nathan, they’re very good, very positive, always with a smile on their faces. With them, we have a lot of quality in the team, on and off the pitch, and it’s so nice to be a part of them and the team.”

While Leverkusen clinched their maiden Bundesliga title, Xhaka’s former club Arsenal suffered a setback, falling to Aston Villa. Despite his history with Arsenal, Xhaka expressed his well wishes for the team’s success in the Premier League title race, underscoring his continued support for his former teammates and the club.
