NBA Playoffs Day 5 Recap: Heat’s record-breaking shooting and Thunder’s dominance

Day 5 of the NBA playoffs witnessed impressive victories from the Miami Heat and the Oklahoma City Thunder, showcasing exceptional performances and historic moments on the court.

Miami Heat vs. Boston Celtics

In a remarkable display of shooting prowess, the Miami Heat bounced back in Game 2 against the Boston Celtics, leveling the series at one apiece and seizing home-court advantage.

Miami’s sharpshooting from beyond the arc was the highlight of the game, as they made a staggering 23 three-pointers, setting a team record for three-point shooting percentage in the playoffs. Tyler Herro led the charge with 24 points and a career-high 14 assists, breaking Jimmy Butler’s record for the most assists in a road playoff game in Heat history.

The Heat’s impressive shooting performance puts them in a strong position as the series heads to Miami for Game 3.

Oklahoma City Thunder vs. New Orleans Pelicans

The Oklahoma City Thunder continued their dominant run in the playoffs with a commanding victory over the New Orleans Pelicans, extending their series lead to 2-0.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander showcased his MVP-caliber talent with a game-high 33 points, while Chet Holgrem added 26 points to the Thunder’s offensive onslaught.

With Zion Williamson still sidelined due to injury, the Pelicans struggled to contain OKC’s explosive offense. The Thunder made NBA history by becoming the first team to have all their points scored by players under the age of 25 in a playoff game.

Their efficient shooting, with a 48.3 percent three-point shooting rate and 59 percent overall field goal percentage, underscores their dominance in the series.
