85 goals in 88 games , Erling Halaand makes Final Dortmund Appearance

Erling Haaland made his final Borussia Dortmund appearance today in a 2-1 win over Hertha Berlin . The Big forward capped a goal filled Dortmund stint with a 68th goal in front of the cheering home supporters .

 

Erling Haaland scored 85 goals for Dortmund in 88 games . The Norwegian forward scored 61 goals in 66 Bundesliga games, a further 15 goals in 13 Champions League matches, eight goals in seven DFB Pokal games, and one goal in two German Supercup appearances.

 

Haaland was signed by Dortmund during the winter break of the 2019/2020 after a stunning 29 goals in 27 games as a teenager with Austrian side FC Salzburg. i

 

Halaand joined Borussia Dortmund for an initial fee of €20m but will join Manchester City next summer after they activated his £51.5m release clause; the forward bowed to the fans on his ‘Last game ‘ as a Borussia Dortmund player.

 

Against Hertha Berlin , Haaland was substituted to a rowsing ovation from the fans. His message for the Dortmund fans read ..

 

” It has been nothing but an honour to wear this shirt,” the post read. “At @BVB I’ve spent memorable moments, met special people, not to mention a fanbase that has been always our extra man on the pitch. The Yellow Wall is truly incredible. I’ll never forget any of this! Thank you all!”.

 

An era ends ahead of a new adventure in the English Premier League with Manchester City.
