Curry drops 40 in Warriors shock defeat, LeBron leads Cavs

The Golden State Warriors suffered a stunning loss in the NBA as LeBron James guided the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Warriors gave up a huge lead before going down to the Memphis Grizzlies 128-119 after overtime.

James had a game-high 36 points as the Cavs proved too good for the Brooklyn Nets in a 116-108 win.

Meanwhile, Andrew Wiggins had a big game for the Minnesota Timberwolves, who were beaten.

GRIZZLIES POWER PAST WARRIORS

The Warriors held a 19-point lead at the end of the third quarter against the Grizzlies.

However, they were outscored 32-13 in the fourth and 17-8 in OT in a stunning loss at Oracle Arena.

Mike Conley was the star with 27 points and 12 assists, while Zach Randolph had 27 points, 11 rebounds and six assists.

Stephen Curry finished with 40 points for the Warriors and Kevin Durant (27 points and 13 rebounds) had a double-double.

BIG THREE LEAD CAVS

James had 36 points, nine rebounds and six assists in the Cavs’ win.

But he got plenty of support from Kyrie Irving (32 points) and Kevin Love, who had a double-double of 17 points and 13 rebounds.

Bojan Bogdanovic finished with a team-high 23 points for the Nets.

WIGGINS NOT ENOUGH

Wiggins contributed 41 points but the Timberwolves went down to the Washington Wizards 112-105.

John Wall starred for the winners with 18 points and 18 assists, while Marcin Gortat (19 points and 10 rebounds) also had a double-double.

ROCKETS, KNICKS RECORD WINS

The Houston Rockets overcame the Orlando Magic 100-93 and Carmelo Anthony (26 points and 10 assists) helped the New York Knicks past the Milwaukee Bucks 116-111.

The Boston Celtics rallied past the Philadelphia 76ers 110-106, the Los Angeles Clippers beat the Sacramento Kings 106-98 and the Los Angeles Lakers cruised past the Miami Heat 127-100.

SAN ANTONIO HOST HORNETS

The San Antonio Spurs (29-7) have used a selfless, team-first approach to climb to the top of the NBA mountain several times in recent years; the Charlotte Hornets (20-17) are trying to build something similar. Still, if you like star power, Spurs forward Kawhi Leonard (24.0 points per game) against Hornets guard Kemba Walker (23.2) makes for a good marquee billing on Saturday.
