Ademola Lookman linked to England return

English Premier League club Crystal Palace are pursuing the signing of Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman during the summer transfer window as they aim to rejuvenate their squad.

Under the guidance of manager Oliver Glasner, Crystal Palace have enjoyed a respectable campaign, currently occupying the 14th position in the English Premier League standings with 33 points from 32 matches.

However, the club is eager to improve its performance next season and is planning to overhaul its squad during the summer transfer window.

Given their financial constraints, Crystal Palace may need to cash-on key players such as Eberechi Eze or Michael Olise to facilitate new signings.

One area of concern for Palace has been their attacking prowess, with veteran forward Jordan Ayew potentially facing an exit after six seasons at the club. Additionally, either Jean-Philippe Mateta or Odsonne Edouard could be sold to make way for new arrivals.

According to a report by The Palace Way, Crystal Palace have identified Nigeria international Ademola Lookman as a potential transfer target.

Lookman has impressed since joining Atalanta, tallying eight goals and four assists in 25 Serie A appearances this season, following a successful stint last season where he registered 13 goals and six assists.

Valued at $30 million by Transfermarkt, Lookman could be available at a reasonable price for Crystal Palace.

The allure of returning to England, where he has previously played for Leicester City, Everton, and Fulham, could also entice the 26-year-old forward to join Palace’s ranks as they seek to bolster their attacking options.
