Ademola Lookman promotes African excellence from Jamaica

Super Eagles of Nigeria star Ademola Lookman is making headlines with his travels and celebrations of African culture. Inspired by the coconut, Lookman is preaching the best of Africa from Jamaica.

Since the end of the European football season, Ademola Lookman has been on a travel spree. After representing Nigeria in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Benin Republic and South Africa, he journeyed to the United States.

There, he witnessed the Boston Celtics defeat the Dallas Mavericks in the 2024 NBA Finals. Lookman then joined fellow Super Eagles star Joe Aribo in New York, where the duo showcased their bromance and skills on a jet ski.

Lookman’s latest stop is the coast of Jamaica, where he has been sharing his Caribbean experiences on social media.

His posts include photos of him riding a horse and enjoying a fresh coconut, accompanied by the Jamaican flag. These snapshots come shortly after Lookman was honored at the Ghana Football Awards in Accra, where he won the Best African International Footballer award.

Lookman’s recent travels and activities are part of his effort to promote African excellence. After a stellar season with Atalanta in the Italian Serie A, Lookman helped the team secure a Champions League spot. He also played a pivotal role in their Europa League victory over Bayer Leverkusen, scoring three goals in the process.

In addition to his club success, Lookman shined at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), leading Nigeria to a second-place finish. His outstanding performances have made him a strong contender for Player of the Year.
