AFCON 2019: Guinea, & Madagascar send Nigeria to the top of group B

After the first rounds of game in group B, the Super Eagles of Nigeria are occupying the top spot.

Nigeria started the 2019 AFCON campaign with a hard-fought 1-0 win against Burundi.

Odion Ighalo scored the only goal of the game in the 77th minutes just four minutes after coming on for Paul Onuachu.

In the other games involving Nigeria’s group B opponents, Guinea and Madagascar settle for a 2-2.

Madagascar who were playing in their first ever AFCON tourney gave a good fight. Guinea scored the first of the game but Madagascar pegged them back.

Madagascar then increased their tally till Guinea were awarded a penalty which was converted for the second goal.

As it stands Nigeria go top with 3 points and +1 goal difference, both Guinea and Madagascar occupy the 2 and 3rd with same point while Burundi occupy the last spot.
