AFCON 2019: Super Eagles to play Benin Republic in Asaba after Ghana pulled out
Super Eagles of Nigeria will now play fellow AFCON 2019 participants Benin Republic in Asaba instead of Ghana as they prepare for 2019 AFCON.
Nigeria had it in place to play a friendly against Ghana but the Black Stars wouldn’t be available as they will be far away in the middle east.
The Black Stars pulled out of the friendly match with their perrenual rivals Nigeria because they will be in their training camp in the United Arab Emirates.
Hence, the reason the NFF has the friendly match against Benin Republic arranged.
The match between Benin Republic and Nigeria will be played in June at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba.
As part of their warm up for AFCON 2019, Nigeria will also play Senegal in a friendly in game in Egypt
