3 Things to expect as Burkina Faso takes on Angry Lions in AFCON 2021 3rd place playoff

Still hurting from the Semi Final loss against Egypt, Cameroons Indomitable Lions will be up against a familiar Burkina Faso side for a podium finish at the 2021 AFCON.

The Indomitable Lions are Understandably angry. A bronze medal will at least appease their fans but first they must find a way past Burkina Faso by 8pm today. Recall that Cameroon were 2-1 victors over Burkina Faso in the opening match of the tournament.

Here are 3 things you should expect from today’s 3rd place playoff match.

1. ANOTHER PLAYER TO SCORE FOR CAMEROON

All of the Indomitable Lions 11 goals at the tournament have come from two players, Vincent Aboubakar and Toko Ekambi. After their inability to score against Egypt, it is expected that Coach Toni Conceicao will set up the team to be less dependent on the two forwards.

2. FANS APATHY

For most Fans , a third place finish will be miles off their expectations. Expect a reduction in fan turnout at the Ahmadou Ahidjo stadium. The sadness of losing the Semi Final match will discourage most supporters from taking the stress of being at the stadium. This set of supporters will cheer from the front of their television sets.

3.  TWO OR MORE GOALS
