Afeez Aremu sets Akinyemi Adeleke up for his first IK Start goal in routine win against Ifeanyi Matthew’s Lillestrom

Afeez Aremu ensured his compatriot Akinyemi Adeleke ended his goal duck as he provided the assist for the 20-year-old striker’s first IK Start goal of the season.
The Nigerian duo were on the winning side as IK Start eased to a 3-0 win against Ifeanyi Matthew and Raphael Ayagwa’s Lillestrom in their Norwegian Eliteserien round 22 game played at Sparebanken Sør Arena on Sunday.
Akinyemi Adeleke has failed to find the back of the net in his first three games for the Norwegian club since he joined them from Ventspils this summer.
Akinyemi Adeleke’s goal drought is surprising considering the Nigerian striker once once scored 6 goals in two Europa League qualifying games
against Albania’s Luftetari.
He also scored a total of 12 goals in his last 8 games for the Latvian Ventspils in all competitions before making his move, but the drought is now in the past.
As early as the 5th minutes of the game Akinyemi Adeleke put IK Start in front after receiving a good pass from former Akwa United midfielder Afeez Aremu.
Kevin Kabrin increased IK Start’s tally to two in the 20th minutes from the spot.
Lillestrom were reduced to 10 after Marius Amundsen was given nis marching orders in the 21st minutes of the game.
Mathias Bringaker sealed the win for the home team in the 78th minutes, just four minutes after he came on for Akinyemi Adeleke.
Afeez Aremu was on the pitch for the entire duration of the match dictating the tempo for the home team. Ifeanyi Matthew was also on the pitch the entire time but couldn’t lift 10-man Lillestrom.
Raphael Ayagwa was on the bench but didn’t play for Lillestrom as they suffered a 3-0 loss at IK Start.
