Africa Super League: Wydad Casablanca off to Nigeria for Enyimba clash In Uyo

Moroccan club, Wydad Casablanca are on their way to Nigeria for the Africa Super League quater-final first leg clash vs Enyimba FC in Uyo.

Wydad Casablanca on Friday morning announced their departure on Social Media alongside photos of the red cladded players on the chartered flight to Nigeria.

Wydad Casablanca and Enyimba FC will lock horns on Sunday, October 22, 2023 at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo by 6pm.

Former African Champions Wydad announced their departure on the social media on Friday, October 20.

“United and Prepared for Our Journey to Nigeria,”the Red Castle wrote on their X handle.

On their part, Enyimba FC have been training in their adopted home ground to familiarize and be ready for the game which will be played under floodlights at the 30,000 capacity Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria.

Meanwhile, the maiden edition of the Africa Super League will kick-off on Friday (today) with Simba of Tanzania hosting Egypt’s Al Ahly at the Benjamin Nkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam.

Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa will take on Petro Athletico of Angola, while Esperance of Tunisia will do battle with Congo Democratic Republic side TP Mazembe in the other quater-final first leg matches lined up for this weekend.
