” Africa`s best “, Vincent Enyeama hailed by NPFL goalie Edidiong Usoro after unanticipated meeting

NPFL goalie Edidiong Usoro has hailed former Nigeria shot-stopper Vincent Enyeama as ” Africa`s best ” in history after their unanticipated meeting in Uyo.

Usoro who is currently on the books of home-town club Dakkada FC shared image of himself and Enyeama at a shop in Uyo on his Facebook handle @DidiUsoro with the caption;

” Ran into my mentor….. Africa’s best n all time record holder….. looking forward to attending ur heights……. Respect Boss.. Vincent Enyeama , ” the Dakakda FC goalkeeper wrote.

Usoro’s claims are backed by stats from the IFFHS which named shows that Enyeama Is rated as the Greatest African Goalkeeper of All-time.

The former Lille OSC goalkeeper enjoyed a glittering football career but is yet to officially announce his retirement from active Football.

In August 2022, the 40-year old suggested he would consider playing in the NPFL for Usoro’s City rivals Akwa United FC.

Just like the Dakkada FC Goalkeeper, Enyeama is a model example for many goalkeepers around the World for his exploits in 632 appearance at club and International level (stats per Wikipedia).

Whereas Vincent is enjoying his rest, the journey continues for Edidiong Usoro as Dakkada FC hosts Enugu Rangers International FC in a Nigeria Premier Football League clash today.

He will have Nigeria U-23 shot-stopper Nurudeen Badmus to contend with for a spot in the starting XI.

Kick-off is 2pm at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo on Monday April 24.

Akwa United FC will face Kwara United FC by 4pm at the same venue.
