Ahmed Musa Leaves Super Eagles Camp Ahead of Unity Cup Final
Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa has left the team’s camp in London and returned to Nigeria due to personal reasons.
He was not seen during Thursday’s training session, which also had a few other players missing as the team prepares for the final of the 2025 Unity Cup in London.
Recall that Nigeria defeated Ghana 2-1 on Wednesday at the GTech Community Stadium in one of the tournament’s matches.
Wilfred Ndidi, Cyriel Dessers, and Semilore Ajayi did not take part in Thursday’s training. Players who featured heavily in the win over Ghana only took part in light recovery sessions.
Benjamin Fredrick, a former ABS Ilorin and Nigeria U20 defender who was not part of the original squad, was seen at the training ground. Fredrick, who now plays for Brentford in the English Premier League, joined the training led by coach Eric Chelle. The session mainly focused on tactics.
The Super Eagles will face Jamaica in the final on Saturday. The Jamaicans earned their spot after beating Trinidad and Tobago 3-2.
