Ahmed Musa Resumes As Kano Pillars General Manager

Nigerian football icon Ahmed Musa, MON, OON, has officially resumed duties as General Manager of Kano Pillars Football Club, promising to reposition the historic club and restore its lost glory.

In a familiarisation meeting on Monday with club Chairman Alhaji Ali Muhammad Umar and members of the board, Musa pledged to bring his vast football experience to bear in transforming the club into a continental force. However, he remained silent on whether he has officially retired from active football or if he intends to combine his new executive role with playing for the team.

The meeting, held at the club’s secretariat, marked the beginning of a new chapter for the four-time Nigerian league champions. Musa, who previously played for Kano Pillars before embarking on a stellar career in Europe with clubs like Leicester City and CSKA Moscow, returns with a bold vision to revamp the club’s structure and performance.

“Kano Pillars is our club and one of the most successful in Nigeria, but in recent years, the story has changed,” Musa said.

“With the support of the board, management, and fans, I will do everything possible to reposition the club and make it one of the finest not only in Africa but globally.”

The Media and Communications Directorate of the club confirmed Musa’s commitment to working with all stakeholders—locally and internationally—to achieve this transformation. He stressed the importance of strategic planning, unity, and professionalism, drawing on lessons from his international career and deep knowledge of the Nigerian football scene.
