Ajibade scores three to fire Nigeria past Senegal into WAFU Women Cup semifinal

Super Falcons of Nigeria thrashed Senegal 3-0 in their second group stage game in the maiden edition of the WAFU Women’s Cup of Nations at the Sport Park Stadium in Abidjan on Saturday.

The Nigerians eased past their opponent in the game as they were already three goals ahead at the end of the first half credits to Ajibade’s treble.

Rasheedat Ajibade posted a woman of the match performance as she struck thrice to give the Falcons all three points and secure their spot into the semi finals of the tourney.

Ajibade opened scoring account on 19 minutes before doubling the West Africans’ lead 11 minutes later.

In the 34th minute, the FC Robo Queens striker completed her hat-trick to make it 3-0 in favour of the ten-time African champions.

The Falcons currently top Group B with maximum six points from two games.

They will take on Togo on Monday, February 19 in their last fixture game.
