Akor Adams Scores Late Winner As Sevilla FC Beat RCD Espanyol 2-1

Nigerian striker Akor Adams came off the bench to score a late winner as Sevilla FC defeated RCD Espanyol 2-1 in a thrilling La Liga match at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán Stadium.

Sevilla looked set for defeat after Tyrhys Dolan gave Espanyol the lead in the second half. The visitors defended well for most of the game and troubled Sevilla on several occasions.

The first half ended without a goal as both teams struggled to create clear chances. Goalkeepers Marko Dmitrović and Odysseas Vlachodimos both made important saves to keep the score level before the break.

Espanyol finally broke the deadlock early in the second half when Roberto Fernández delivered a fine pass to Dolan, who calmly finished past Vlachodimos to put the visitors ahead.

Sevilla increased the pressure in the closing stages and found an equaliser in the 82nd minute through Andrés Castrín, who moved forward from defence to score and lift the home supporters.

With the game heading towards a draw, Adams produced the winning moment in the 90th minute. The Super Eagles forward, who had only been on the pitch for 16 minutes, scored with his only shot of the match to complete a dramatic comeback for Sevilla.

The important victory moved Sevilla up to 12th place on the league table, three points above the relegation zone with three matches left to play.
