Akpom Named Championship Player Of the Month

Chuba Akpom has once again been rewarded for his impressive performances, he has been named PFA Vertu Motors Championship Fans’ Player of the Month award for January.

The Middlesbrough striker in November and January.

Akpom garnered 25% of the votes to beat the likes of Elijah Adebayo (Luton Town), Antoine Semenyo (Bristol City, now at Bournemouth), Teemu Pukki (Norwich City), Ian Maatsen (Burnley), and Kasey Palmer (Coventry City).

The former Arsenal striker scored three goals for Middlesbrough in January.

He scored his 17th goal of the season to help Middlesbrough to a 3-1 win over Sheffield United on Wednesday.

The 27-year-old is the top scorer in the EFL Championship with 17 goals in 25 matches.
