Akwa Ibom to get another standard stadium as Uyo Township Stadium nears completion
Work at the Uyo Township Stadium in Akwa Ibom State is at advanced stage. When completed, it will bring to three the number of standard sports complex in the state.
The remodeled Uyo Township Stadium has in it’s premises an Olympic-size Swimming pool , artificial playing surface for football matches plus indoor halls for other sports like Judo, weightlifting, Taekwondo, Boxing etc.
As gathered by SportsRation correspondent Nsikakabasi Akpan , Work at the Uyo Township Stadium will be completed before the tenure of the Udom Emmanuel led administration on May 29, 2023.
The Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo and Eket Stadium are the other Standard Sports facilities in the state.
The Eket Stadium was inaugurated in 2022 and currently serves as home-ground for National League clubs FC ONE Rockets and Vandrezzer FC while the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium serves as home for Akwa United FC and Dakkada FC.
