Akwa United FC edge gallant Nordic Football Academy in Pre-season friendly

Akwa United Football Club of Uyo on Thursday morning edged Nordic Football Academy 1-0 in a Pre-season friendly game at the Nest of Champions, Uyo.

The Youthful Nordic Football Academy lads put in a gallant performance against their more experienced hosts Akwa United FC who paraded Ex-U23 utility player Ndifreke Effiong.

Akwa United FC bagged the games only goal in the first half following a own goal by the visitors who gave a good account of themselves.

The Nordic Academy lads passed on many goal scoring opportunities in the second half while playing free flowing and entertaining football.

For the friendly game, Ayodeji Ayeni refreshed his team with substitutions but met stiff opposition from the young lads in the 2 hours long encounter (1 hour per half).

It finished Akwa United FC 1-0 Nordic Football Academy.

Despite the loss, Nordic Football Academy owners Karl Hugo Pament and Kingsley Amunike will be pleased with the display of the talented youngsters who gave the Promise Keepers a good test.

Worthy of mention is the performance of Nordic Football Academy shots-stopper Chukwu Josiah who made several saves including stopping Ndifreke Effiong’s penalty to ensure his team gets a respectable scoreline.
