Akwa United FC unveil 23 new players, new coach eyes NPFL title

Akwa United FC of Uyo has unveiled 23 new players and coach who has eye for the 2023/2024 Nigeria Professional Football League – NPFL title.

The new coach of Akwa United FC is Fatai Osho who last season worked as Assistant Coach of Rivers United FC of Port Harcourt.

The new coach was officially unveiled at a brief ceremony at the conference room of the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo on Wednesday August 23 by the Elder Paul Bassey led Akwa United FC management team.

In his first words as Head Coach of Akwa United FC, Osho declared his ambition to guide the Promise Keepers to NPFL title success.

To underline the clubs ambition for a new phase having missed out of the NPFL Super six last season, Akwa United FC announced it has signed 23 new players.

The new players are;

▫️Chukwuebuka Anthony [from Rangers Int’l FC]

▫️Oguntayo Seyi [from City FC]

▫️Nurudeen Badmus [from Dakkada FC]

▫️Opamaye Gbenga [from Remo Stars FC]

▫️Iniobong Nsima [gateway United FC]

▫️Osoba Kabir

▫️Hadi Mohammed [from Rangers Int’l FC]

▫️Mubarak Said [from Lobi Stars FC]

▫️Heutchou Gerome [from Katsina United FC]

▫️Ojo Dare [from PFK Marshall]

▫️Oddi Bobo [from Warri Wolves FC]

▫️Emmanuel James [from Yobe Desert stars]

▫️Akintunde Bala [from Shooting Stars SC]

▫️David Dennis [from Essien Ayi FC]

▫️Hakeem Otuyisa [from Warri Wolves FC]

▫️Édidiong Ezekiel [from Remo Stars FC]

▫️Babatunde Solomon [from Niger Tornadoes FC]

The 2023/2024 Nigeria Professional Football League season will kickoff in September 2023 and run till May 2024.

Akwa United FC last won the League title in the 2020/2021 season during the days of Kennedy Boboye as Head Coach of the Akwa Ibom State Government owned outfit.
