Akwa United Team Manager Passes Away
Akwa United Football Club of Uyo have been hit with another sad loss as their long-serving Team Manager, Emmanuel Udoh, has passed away.
This tragic news comes during a difficult year for the club, following their relegation to the Nigeria National League and the recent death of goalkeeper coach Moses Effiong. Emmanuel Udoh’s sudden passing adds to the sorrow surrounding the club.
According to information gathered by SportsRation, a Sports Ministry official in Akwa Ibom State confirmed Udoh’s death on Saturday, May 31, during a chat with the media outlet. The cause of death is yet to be officially announced.
Until his passing, Emmanuel Udoh was the Team Manager of Akwa United, a position he held for many years with pride and dedication. During his time with the club, he helped them win two FA Cup titles and the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) title in 2021.
He was also a former Secretary of the Akwa Ibom State Football Association, making him a well-known and respected figure in the football community across the state and the country.
