Al Nassr Eye Super Eagles Star Victor Boniface as Duran’s Replacement
Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr are showing interest in Nigerian striker Victor Boniface as they look to replace Jhon Duran, who is expected to leave the club this summer.
Al Nassr, who finished third in the Saudi Pro League last season behind Al Hilal and Al Ittihad, are planning major changes ahead of the new season.
Cristiano Ronaldo recently extended his contract with the club, ending speculation about his future. With that settled, the focus has now shifted to signing a new striker.
Jhon Duran, who joined Al Nassr from Aston Villa in January, is set for a move back to Europe, with Turkish giants Fenerbahce reportedly leading the race for his signature.
As a result, Al Nassr are exploring fresh attacking options — and Victor Boniface is top on their list.
According to transfer expert Ben Jacobs, the Saudi club are considering reviving their interest in Boniface, after a failed attempt to sign him from Bayer Leverkusen during the January transfer window.
The Nigerian forward is currently valued at around €40 million, a fee that Al Nassr can comfortably afford. Boniface has been in top form, scoring 32 goals and providing 12 assists in 61 matches across all competitions for Leverkusen in the past two seasons.
The 24-year-old earns about €38,500 per week at the German club, but Al Nassr are confident that they can tempt him with a much bigger offer.
Boniface is known for his strength, speed, and ability to dribble and create chances. His playing style allows him to link up well with another striker, which could make him an ideal partner for Ronaldo in Al Nassr’s attack.
Although Boniface has expressed his admiration for Neymar — calling the Brazilian his football idol and the greatest player of all time — playing alongside a global superstar like Ronaldo would be a huge step in his career.
Al Nassr have not yet submitted an official offer, but talks are expected to progress in the coming days as the Saudi club push to strengthen their squad for the new season.
