Alex Iwobi’s Everton Climb out of the relegation zone with Victory over Leicester City.

Nigerian Midfielder Alex Iwobi was on for the entire duration of the game as relegation battling Everton defeated Leicester City 1-2 at the King power stadium to boost their chances of survival.

 

The win takes Frank Lampard’s Charges a point above Leeds and Burnley with a game in hand over both teams, with Watford next for the Toffees on Wednesday.

 

Alex Iwobi assisted the stunning volley from Vitalii Mykolenko to put Everton in front . Leceister restored parity when Patson Daka slotted the ball past Jordan Pickford .

 

Everton regained the lead when Mason Holgate scored from close range following initial Richarlison’s header which was pushed to one side by Leicester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel after 30 minutes.

Everton defended for most of the second half with Jordan Pickford the hero for a second weekend running as he made save after save to preserve their lead.

 

Alex Iwobi’s Everton thus edged Leicester 1-2 at the expiration of regulation time. Nigeria’s  Kelechi Ihenacho and Ademola Lookman were in action for Leicester City with the former coming on as a Substitute.

 

Alex Iwobi and his Everton teammates now know a win over already relegated Watford will calm nerves and save the shock and disappointment of dropping to the English championship .
