Alhassan Yusuf sets six-points target for Nigeria vs Libya
Super Eagles midfielder, Alhassan Yusuf, has stated that the team is aiming for all six points in their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying matches against Libya.
Speaking ahead of the double-header, Yusuf emphasized the importance of securing victories in both games. “We’re going for the six points against Libya, that’s our main goal. With those points, we are already on the way to AFCON,” said Yusuf, who currently plays for New England Revolution.
The first match will take place at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Friday, with kick-off scheduled for 5 PM Nigerian time. After that, the Super Eagles will head to Benina for the return fixture, which will be played four days later.
Nigeria currently sits at the top of Group D with four points after two games. On the other hand, Libya is struggling in the group with just one point. A strong performance in these two matches would put Nigeria in a great position to qualify for the 2025 AFCON tournament.
Coach Augustine Eguavoen and his team are confident as they prepare for the crucial encounters.
