Anderlecht 2 Club Brugge 3: Dennis, Danjuma help Blue-Black win five-goal thriller to stay perfect in Belgian title playoff
Nigeria U-23 attacker, Emmanuel Dennis Bonaventure and Holland born of Nigerian descent, Arnaut Danjuma were on target as Club Brugge beat Anderlecht at the 3-2 at the Constant Vanden Stock in their Belgian title playoff clash on Thursday.
After assisting two goals in Club Brugge’s 3-0 win against KAA Gent in their first title playoff game, Emmanuel Dennis put his name on the scorers chat to ensure the Blue-Black continue their winning run.
Wesley Moraes and Emmanuel Dennis fired Club Brugge into the lead with their strikes in the 5th and 32nd minutes of the game.
Emmanuel Dennis raced into a pass from the right wing and fired a low shot past the goalie.
Pieter Gerkens pulled one back for Anderlecht in the 64th minute but Arnaut Danjuma restored Club Brugge two goals lead with a fine strike. Just seven minutes after he came on Emmanuel Dennis, Arnaut Danjuma twisted and turned his markers to fire past the goalie.
Adrien Trebel reduced the deficit to one with his 91st minute strike but it was too late to make any impact as Club Brugge hung on to their lead.
Club Brugge have now won 2 games from 2 but still have 8 more title games to play.
