Antonio Candreva cameo in Inter’s 6-goal thriller against Sassoulo shows why Victor Moses doesn’t get game time

Victor Moses has struggled for game time since joining Inter Milan on loan from Chelsea and this might continue after Antonio Candreva display in Inter Milan’s 3-3 draw against Sassoulo on Wednesday.

Victor Moses was preferred over his rival Antonio Candreva in the starting line up but didn’t do enough to be preferred over the Italian in the starting XI.

The Nigerian had a good first half, his forward runs were almost perfect, he exploited the space on the Sassoulo left side but as usual his final balls were poor.

Victor Moses put in 8 crosses but none found his target and were all wasted, he won 7 of his 8 ground duels.

Although he was involved in Inter Milan’s first goal as he combined with Romelu Lukaku and Christian Eriksen who passed to Milan Skriniar that was fouled for the penalty.

Victor Moses was rather defensive in the second half and didn’t offer attacking option for Inter Milan from the right flank.

He was eventually subbed off in the 75th minute for Antonio Candreva who sets up Inter Milan’s third goal from a free kick.

In fact, Antonio Candreva who was on the pitch for 15 minutes had a sofascore rating of 7.2 while Victor Moses had just 6.9 despite playing for 75 minutes.

Injury is another factor that has worked against Victor Moses, but it would be difficult for him improve on his two starts for Inter Milan if he doesn’t work on his passes in the final third.

So far, he has started just two league games and played in a total of five games.
