Arokodare Set for Big Summer Move After Golden Season with Genk

Super Eagles striker, Emmanuel Toluwalase Arokodare, is set to leave Belgian side Racing Genk this summer, according to the club’s Sporting Director, Dimitri De Condé.

The 24-year-old had a standout season, scoring 23 goals and providing seven assists in all competitions. His goalscoring form helped Genk finish third in the Jupiler Pro League, just missing out on the title.

Arokodare was unstoppable under new manager Thorsten Fink, bagging 21 league goals to finish as the top scorer for the 2024/2025 season. He joins an elite list of Genk greats, including Branko Strupar, Wesley Sonck, and fellow Nigerian Paul Onuachu.

Speaking to Belgian media outlet Het Belang Van Limburg, De Condé said:

“I estimate the chance of Arokodare leaving at 99%. There’s no formal offer yet, but many agents are showing serious interest. From experience, I can say he’s likely to leave. He’s in demand and ready for the next step.”

De Condé also mentioned Genk are prepared for life after Arokodare, saying:

“We have full confidence in Oh Hyeon-gyu as his replacement, and 18-year-old Robin Mirisola from Jong Genk also shows great promise.”

Arokodare will now turn his focus to international duty, as he joins the Super Eagles squad in Brentford for the 2025 Unity Cup. Nigeria will face Ghana tomorrow at the Gtech Community Stadium.

The big move is on the horizon—and after a record-breaking season, Arokodare looks ready for a new challenge.
