Arsenal Coach, Mikel Arteta has showered encomiums on Martin Odegaard following his impressive performance in the 2-0 win over Tottenham.
The Gunners captain produced a match-winning performance with a stunning low drive effort to ensure the maximum points.
Odegaard was voted Premier League’s player of the month for November and December and he marked it with a top performance.
Arteta has reserved special praises for his captain when he was asked to describe his performance.
“Ah, terrific. Especially the first half I think he was incredible. He’s really showing a different kind of presence in the way he’s influencing the game, just the feeling, the way he moves what he transmits on the pitch is different. To do what he’s done here today, big credit to him”.
He also hailed his team overall performance against their North London rivals.
“I’m very happy for two reasons. One because I saw a team with a lot of courage, determination, quality and that really wanted it today to come here and win. And the other one where we have a job where we are really privileged to make people happy and when you have this opportunity you have to really try and do it. So the enjoyment and sharing the victory with our fans it was a great feeling and all the suffering that we do it makes a lot of sense in moments like this”.
Arsenal will be back in Premier League action against Manchester United on Sunday.
The Gunners lost their only game of the season in the first leg at Old Trafford 3-1.
