Arturo Vidal advises Alexis Sanchez to join him at a big club

Bayern Munich midfielder Arturo Vidal has told his compatriot Alexis Sanchez to abandon Arsenal and join him at a “big team”.

The German champions are among a host of clubs including Chelsea, Paris St Germain and Juventus who are targeting Sanchez this summer as he enters the final year of his contract at Arsenal.

Though the Gunners have offered Sanchez £300,000-a-week, the highest wage in the Premier League, no talks are expected until the 28-year-old returns from international duty with Chile, who are participating in the Confederations Cup in Russia.

Vidal has previously revealed he has spoken with the Bayern setup about signing Sanchez but his efforts have now gone further, contacting the Arsenal forward directly to convince him to make the move.

“I told him it’s his chance to be on a big team,” Vidal told reporters in Chile.

“If you want to compare with the big [players] you have to go to the best team in the world.”

Arsenal would likely demand a fee of around £50million if they were to allow Sanchez to leave, though it remains a possibility that they will retain him for the last year of his contract even at the cost of losing him on a free next summer.
