Aruna Quadri loses to Ahmed Saleh in the ITTF Africa Top 16 final

Aruna Quadri fell 4-3 to Egypt’s Ahmed Saleh in the men’s single final match at the 2020 ITTF Africa Top 16 Cup on Wednesday.

Aruna Quadri failed to make it two in two against Egyptian opponents at the event after securing a 4-3 win against Omar Assar in the semifinal last

Aruna Quadri fell 6-11,11-5,9-11,11-6,11-9, 9-11 and 3-11 to Ahmed Saleh who last defeated him in Maputo in 2011.

The record between the two players now stands at 7-6 in favour of the Egyptian.

In the women’s category, Offiong Edem also fell 4-1 to Dina Meshref who has now won the title for the 4th consecutive times.

The final result was 11-2, 11-8, 8-11, 11-5, 11-6 in favour of Dina Meshref.
