Asamoah Gyan launches Baby Jet Airlines in Ghana

Former Sunderland striker Asamoah Gyan has founded his own airline in his native Ghana.

The 31-year-old has been granted permission to launch Baby Jet Airlines, which takes its moniker from the player’s own nickname of Baby Jet.

“I’ve been reliably informed that the captain of our senior national football team, Asamoah Gyan has obtained an air carrier licence,” The Sun quotes Ghanaian president Nana Akufo-Addo as saying.

“He is working feverishly to establish an airline, obviously called Baby Jet Airlines.

“I want to call on other Ghanaians both at home and abroad to invest in the rapidly growing aviation sector.”

Gyan, who currently plays for Turkish club Kayserispor, is expected to focus on cargo deliveries with Baby Jet Airlines before expanding to passenger flights.
