Ashley Barty breaks 44-year duck, beat Danielle Collins to win 2022 Australia Open
Ashley Barty has claimed her first ever Australia Open grand-slam title after securing a 6-3, 7-6 (2) win against America’s Danielle Collins on Saturday.
The world number one and number one seeded at the 2022 Australia Open came from 1-5 sets to claimed a 7-6 (2) in the second game to secure a straights sets win.
Ashley Barty showed the same ruthlessness that saw her win all seven games at Melbourne without dropping a set. The 25-year-old cruised into her maiden 3rd grand slam title.

- Final: beat Danielle Collins (United States) 6-3 7-6 (2)

Tomorrow, Rafael Nadal and Danil Medvedev will play in the men’s final.
