Super Falcons striker, Asisat Oshoala has revealed the reason behind her short term loan move to spanish giants, Barcelona.
The 24-year-old striker confessed that she joined female team of Spanish club, Barcelona to make history.
The former Liverpool and Arsenal attacker who joined Barcelona on loan from her Chinese club, Dalian Quanjian F.C. expressed her happiness at joining one of the best teams in Europe.
“This is obviously one of the best clubs in the world. The team has a great history and wonderful football mentality,” Oshoala said.
While Oshoala can’t wait to get started, the three-time African women player of the year revealed she is looking forward to linking up with Vicky Losada her former Arsenal teammate.
“I am excited about playing with Vicky Losada again. She’s a great midfielder, with a lot of energy and skill. I also met Fabiana in China and she helped me to make this decision”.
“My goal is to strengthen the team and help them to win and make history. This is a fantastic opportunity because I’m sure something big will happen here” Oshoala concluded.
Oshoala could debut for her new sode this weekend when Barcelona file out against Albacete.
Barcelona are the currently occupying the seond position on the Primera Division Feminina table behind Atletico Madrid.
The loan would definitely help Oshoala to get involved in top competition ahead of the forthcoming FIFA Women’s World Cup where she will play a top role for the Super Falcons.
