Aston Villa Agree Loan Deal to Sign Marcus Rashford from Manchester United

Aston Villa have reached an agreement to sign Marcus Rashford on loan from Manchester United until June, with the deal including an option to make the move permanent for £40 million.

The 27-year-old forward, who has been out of favour under United head coach Ruben Amorim, has not played since December 12. Villa will cover over 70% of Rashford’s £325,000-a-week wages, with performance-based bonuses also included in the agreement.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Rashford is set to undergo his medical today as he looks to revive his career with Unai Emery’s side. If the buy option is triggered, he could sign a three-and-a-half-year contract with Villa.

The move comes after Villa generated significant funds by selling Jhon Duran to Al-Nassr for £64 million. Rashford had attracted interest from Barcelona, Borussia Dortmund, Monaco, and AC Milan, but his high wages made a transfer difficult.

Despite scoring three goals in Amorim’s first two league matches, Rashford’s relationship with the manager deteriorated after reports emerged that he had been out on a Friday night before a match against Everton. Since then, he has been frozen out of the squad.

With Villa pushing for a top-four finish and Champions League qualification, Rashford will be aiming to rediscover his best form in claret and blue.
