Awoniyi backed to score against Arsenal
Nigerian striker Taiwo Awoniyi has been backed to score against Arsenal when they visit Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.
The 2022/2023 English Premier League season penultimate week clash will happen on Saturday May 20.
Awoniyi has been excellent for relegation battling Nottingham Forest, scoring four goals in the last two games to help the club move out of the drop zone.
It is not yet Uhuru for Nottingham Forest and so manager Steve Copper is backing the in-form Nigerian to score against Arsenal on Saturday evening at the City Ground.
“Performance-wise he has been excellent since he’s come back into the mix,” Cooper told the pre-match conference.
“He needs to play well if selected on Saturday and then do everything he can to try and score again.”
A game that will decide how things stand at both end of the table. At the top, Arsenal have slipped in recent weeks to allow Manchester City go one win away from the title.
A win for Nottingham Forest will possibly guarantee their safety and also crown Manchester City League Champions for a third season in a row.
Steve Copper is more concerned about the factors within their control and nothing else.
“Wherever you are in the league, when you’re playing for something you always want it to be in your hands, and that’s what we’ve got to try and capitalise on .
“We’ve got to have the confidence and motivation to make it that way.
“There’s a mini league going on and we want to stay where we are now.
“There’s so much that can happen and we’ve got to concentrate on what we can control,” the Nottingham Forest manager added
