Awoniyi warning sent to Premier League clubs
Former England International Owen Hargreaves has sent warning to Premier League clubs of Taiwo Awoniyi’s incredible quality.
This remarks Hargreaves made on punditry duty for the Nottingham Forest vs Sheffield United FC 2023/2024 English Premier League matchday two clash at the City Ground.
Taiwo Awoniyi scored the opening goal in the 3rd minute to inspire a 2-1 win for Nottingham Forest , their first win of the new season after a 2-1 opening day loss to Arsenal FC, a game the Nigerian International came off the bench to net the consolation goal.
Speaking on Premier League Productions after Forest Vs Sheffield United game, Hargreaves said of Taiwo Awoniyi: “He’s going to cause a lot of people problems.
“Physically, he is just so powerful, so explosive. The weight of that pass is perfect, he just hit it first time and the header was brilliant.
“Physically, with his size, his leaping ability and his speed, he will be awful to play against”.
The goal vs Sheffield United FC on Friday night means Taiwo Awoniyi has scored in each of his last six Premier League games, a run that stretches from the final weeks of the 2022/2023 season.
If he scores vs Manchester United FC next weekend, Awoniyi will equal Mohamed Salah and Emmanuel Adebayor as the African goal-scorers in seven consecutive EPL games,
