Curry drops 43 in 3 quarters as Warriors crush Clippers, Celtics win in OT

Steph Curry led the way as the Golden State Warriors routed the Los Angeles Clippers, while the Boston Celtics prevailed in overtime against the Milwaukee Bucks.

Curry posted 43 points in Golden State’s comprehensive 144-98 victory in NBA action on Saturday.

Isaiah Thomas propelled the Celtics to a 112-108 win against the Bucks in overtime.

Karl-Anthony Towns, meanwhile, inspired the Minnesota Timberwolves.

 

CURRY DAZZLES IN OAKLAND

The Warriors guard looked every bit of the player who won back-to-back MVP awards.

Curry scored 25 of his 43 points in the third quarter, while he nailed a half-court buzzer-beater at the end of the first half as the Warriors won for the ninth time in 10 games.

Kevin Durant added 23 points.

The Clippers, who have lost four of their past five games since losing Chris Paul to injury, were led by Blake Griffin’s 20 points.

 

THOMAS BREAKS BUCKS HEARTS

The two-time All-Star produced the goods in Boston’s overtime win.

Thomas had 37 points, while nailing six-of-11 three-point shots for the in-form Celtics, who have won 10 of their past 14 games.

 

TOWNS HAS A SEASON-HIGH NIGHT

The Timberwolves star scored 37 points and tallied 13 rebounds as Minnesota beat the Brooklyn Nets 129-109.

Towns has recorded at least a double-double in 16 of his last 17 games.

HEAT STAY HOT, GRIZZLIES WIN

The Miami extended their winning streak to seven games with a 116-103 win against the Detroit Pistons, while the Memphis Grizzlies topped the Utah Jazz 102-95.

The Sacramento Kings edged the Charlotte Hornets 109-106 and the Denver Nuggets trumped the Phoenix Suns 123-112.

 

WARRIORS BACK ON COURT

The Warriors are back in action on Sunday when they travel to the Portland Trail Blazers. The reigning NBA champion Cleveland Cavaliers host the Oklahoma City Thunder, the San Antonio Spurs face the Dallas Mavericks and the Houston Rockets meet the Indiana Pacers.
