Balogun Folarin gets first senior goal with first attempt for Arsenal
Balogun Folarin has opened his senior account for Arsenal with his first ever short on target as he helps The Gunners to a 3-0 win against Molde on Thursday.
The 19-year-old striker who could walk away on a free transfer after rejecting Arsenals contract offers scored in just his second senior appearance.
Goals from Nicolas Pepe and Reiss Nelson had put Arsenal up in Norway but just a minute after coming on, Balogun Folarin scored their third goal with his first attempt.
In less than 10 minutes that he spent at the Aker Stadion on Thursday he showed class and readiness to step up when called upon.
And his club captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has backed him to shine for Arsenal.
“He’s very talented,” said Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
“He shows every time he trains that he’s a really great talent.
“He works a lot and he’s a humble guy as well. I like his style.”
The New York City born forward is eligible to play for United States of America, England and Nigeria.
