Folarin Balogun is on the summer transfer wishlist of several European clubs following a stand-out season for Stade Reims.
Super-Eagle eligible Balogun scored the opening goal in Reims 1-2 loss to Olympique Marseille on sunday night .
The Arsenal loanee scored the opening goal in the 13th minute as Stade de Reims looked to extend their 19-game unbeaten run, the most in Europe’s top-flight leagues this season.
That lead lasted for just three minutes as former Manchester United FC and Arsenal player Alexis Sanchez levelled things up with a superb free-kick.
The 34-year-old, who scored just five goals in 45 appearances for United, netted again in the 29th minute for what turned out to be the winning goal to end Stade de Reims incredible 19-game unbeaten run.
Folarin Balogun has scored 17-goals this season to attract interest around Europe and Le10Sport, making reference to the print edition of influential Marseille-based newspaper La Provence, says Marseille would like to sign Balogun in the summer.
Balogun extended his contract with Arsenal in April 2021, a deal that will keep him at the Emirates Stadium until June 30, 2025.
A loan switch has been mooted already because Marseille could be priced out of a permanent switch deal, with Arsenal reportedly valuing their academy product in the region of 40 million euros.
Balogun has been one of the revelations this season in the French Ligue 1, scoring seventeen goals and setting up two more in twenty seven appearances.
