Teams in the Onna Zone of the Akwa Ibom state Grassroots League played their fifth round of matches today Thursday 31st March 2022. Three games were decided today at the Onna Township stadium.
In the first game of the day, Oxygen Fc fell 0-1 to Blessed Stars Academy . A tensed yet entertaining game was decided by a beautiful free kick converted by Blessed Stars Academy Midfielder Isreal Joseph. His fifth goal of the season.
Unity Fc were held to a 1-1 draw by Defending Champions Krane Fc. A result which ensures Unity Fc maintain its position on top of the table plus it’s Unbeaten run which now stretches to Five games.
A five goal thriller followed as Barracks Fc continued their bounce defeating Scorpion Fc 2-3. Josima Fc Vs Cheetah Fc did not hold With the away side likely to be awarded the points. This is subject to the decision of the Local organizing committee .
The Top four teams after Week Five matches in the Zone are Unity Fc who retain top spot with 11 points closely followed by Krane Fc on 10 points.
Blessed Stars overtake Oxygen Fc into third place based on a Superior goal difference with both teams level on 9 points . Oxygen Fc occupy the fourth and final Super Four Qualification spot.
Barracks Fc are 5th on the log with 8 points . Scorpions Fc sit in 6th place while Cheetah Fc will climb above Josima Fc into 7th place pending the decision of the LOC.
Uyo Zone Week Five matches will take place on April fool’s day by 9am, 11pm , 1pm and 3pm respectively .
