Bayer Leverkusen continue treble march with Europa league last-4 qualification

Nigeria’s Victor Boniface and his Bayer Leverkusen side remain in contention for a treble this season after a hard-fought 1-1 draw against West Ham United in the second leg of their Europa League quarterfinal.

The German club extended their impressive unbeaten run to 44 matches across all competitions, coming from behind to hold the Hammers and secure a 3-1 aggregate victory on Thursday night.

The result means the Bundesliga outfit is still in the hunt for a historic treble, having already won the Bundesliga for the first time and are in the final of the DFB-Pokal (German Cup).

Nigerian striker, Victor Boniface played a key role in Leverkusen’s success, with a goal in the first-leg of this fixture.

The 23-year-old’s performances have been a highlight of Leverkusen’s impressive campaign, and he will undoubtedly be a crucial player as they continue their pursuit of silverware.

The draw against West Ham showcased Leverkusen’s determination and ability to grind out results, with Alonso’s men having to fight back after the London side looked like they were getting back in the game. Their unbeaten run, which now stands at an incredible 44 matches, is a testament to the team’s consistency and the quality of their squad which also includes Nigerian winger Nathan Tellla.
