Bayer Leverkusen Set €50m Price Tag on Victor Boniface Amid Transfer Talks

German club Bayer 04 Leverkusen have placed a €50 million price tag on Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface, as transfer rumours continue to grow.

The 24-year-old Nigerian forward enjoyed a fantastic debut season in Germany, scoring 21 goals and providing nine assists in 34 matches across all competitions. He helped Leverkusen win both the Bundesliga title and the DFB Pokal under manager Xabi Alonso.

However, things haven’t gone as smoothly this season. Boniface has only managed to score 11 goals in 27 appearances, with injuries affecting his form. Now, as the summer transfer window approaches, reports suggest Leverkusen are ready to let him go.

According to German outlet Sport Bild, the club have reduced their asking price for Boniface, who was once valued at €70 million. During the January transfer window, Boniface came close to joining Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr, but the deal fell through as they chose to sign John Duran instead.

Since that failed move, the former Union Saint-Gilloise forward has mostly been benched and has scored just two goals, struggling to make an impact when given the chance.

It now seems likely that Boniface will leave Leverkusen this summer, with the club hoping to secure a good deal for the Nigerian international.
