German Bundesliga side Bayern Munich have confirmed injury to Senegal star Sadio Mane with 11 days to the commencement of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
The Africa Footballer of the Year away winner went off injured during Bayern Munich’s clash with Werder Bremen to growing concerns he could miss the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Lequipe on Wednesday morning announced Mane will miss the World Cup, a report that left Africans heartbroken but the German champions arrived with a statement of hope in the afternoon.
Bayern Munich wrote ” Sadio Mané has picked up an injury and he won’t be available for game against Schalke.
” Further tests will follow in the next few days — Bayern is in contact with the medical team of Senegalese Football Association”.
Sadio Mane reportedly suffered a tendon injury that could keep him out of action for few weeks.
Senegal will face Qatar, Ecuador and Netherlands in Group A at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, the Terenga lions chances of progressing from the group will suffer a blow if Sadio Mane is ruled out of the tournament.
