Bayern Munich legend recommends Tuchel for sack before Arsenal clash

Thomas Tuchel’s future at Bayern Munich is under scrutiny, with Lothar Matthaus recommending that the German giants should sack Tuchel and have a new manager in place by the time they face Arsenal in the Champions League.

Bayern, who are set to lose their Bundesliga crown to Bayer Leverkusen this season, are preparing to take on Arsenal in the quarter-finals of the Champions League, with the first leg scheduled for Tuesday at Emirates Stadium.

The Bavarian club’s recent form has been disappointing, highlighted by a 3-2 defeat to Heidenheim where they squandered a two-goal lead in the first half.

Despite Harry Kane’s continued goal-scoring exploits, reaching 38 goals for the season, there are doubts over Tuchel will get the sack to end a miserable tenure at the club.

Matthaus, a Bayern legend, expressed his concerns about Tuchel’s management, stating to Sky Deutschland, “Last week’s embarrassing performance against Dortmund and today’s result says a lot. Thomas Tuchel can no longer reach the team, he gives strange press conferences and makes strange statements.

” I could imagine that Bayern will react in the next 24 to 48 hours because it can’t continue like this. The team needs a new impulse somehow and Thomas Tuchel can no longer give it.”

With six league defeats this season and exits from domestic cup competitions, the Champions League remains Bayern’s last hope for major silverware under Tuchel’s reign.

However, with the coach already announcing his departure at the end of the season, uncertainties loom over Bayern’s future direction as they aim to salvage their campaign on the European stage.
