Best FIFA Goalkeeper: Lloris, Schmeichel & Courtois Nominated
Hugo Lloris, Kasper Schmeichel and Thibaut Courtois have all been nominated for the FIFA Best Goalkeeper award.
The Premier League trio, of Tottenham, Leicester City and Chelsea respectively, all impressed at club level last season, though they truly thrived internationally, all performing heroics at the World Cup
Lloris captained France to victory, despite an error in the final that allowed Mario Mandzukic to score. Indeed, he conceded twice in that game, with France ultimately triumphing 4-2.
Schmeichel, meanwhile, played a key role as Denmark reached the Round of 16 in Russia, where they lost to finalists Croatia on penalties.
Belgium’s Courtois helped his side to third-place in the tournament, twice keeping clean sheets against England, and also inspiring the Red Devils to a 2-1 win over Brazil in the quarter-finals.
