Bendel Insurance have received a heavy blow to their hopes of making the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup this season following the sale of striker Imade Osarenkhoe to UAE outfit United FC.
Imade Osarenkhoe emerged as one of the finest attacking players in the league last season for the Benin Arsenal. He scored eight goals for the newly-promoted side as they went through the abridged season undefeated. He also scored the winner in the Federation Cup final against Rangers to hand his side the title.
This season, Imade has scored two goals in three CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round matches, including one in their 2-2 draw at home to RS Berkane last week. Monday Odigie’s side will be without the striker for the second leg in Morocco.
Imade has signed a four-year deal with United FC and is already in the Emirates ahead of his unveiling, which is scheduled for tomorrow.
